Photographer, businessman and creator of “Backs for Breast Cancer”, Eddy Jalbert is a man on a mission to bring a message of hope and celebration to women and their families who have journeyed through breast cancer. “I want to bring awareness to all women of the importance of early breast cancer screening. I want women to take action to get screened and I want family members to provoke their wives, sisters, mothers and daughters to get screened. If cancer is to be beaten, then we must catch it early.”
Eddy Jalbert is a graduate of Montreal’s Dawson Institute in Photography and has worked in commercial photography capturing subjects such as the young Celine Dion and Cana-dian fashion model, Yasmeen Ghauri.
He moved from Montreal to Vancouver in 1993 and practices “Philanthropy Photography” to benefit non-profit organizations such as Friends for Life, Children's Hospitals, Canadian Cancer Society and many others.
Eddy creates his images using both film and digital processes. For his exhibitions, Eddy uses a Bronica SQ film camera and produced all of his own B & W prints in his studio darkroom.
Fatlind Melani was born in south eastern Europe 1971 in a small town of northers Albania. After being trained as an Electrical and Electronics Engineer in Istanbul i left that field in my late 20s when i met the music journey as a classical flute player in conservatory of Istanbul. Making the shift was a long term plan set up for an entrepreneurship.
As a back up, while focused in the flute and having teachers of different schooling systems, i decided to invest in the computer world as a balance factor to meet my material needs. After an intense self-taught move to Adobe platform i managed to get a position as a freelance Photoshop and Illustrator instructor in 3 different languages.
I saw myself in Toronto in 2002 and from there the move was towards the graphic design. Getting a certificate from Toronto Image Works in desktop publishing, i started my graphic design business in 2004 with an aim at Magazine, Newspaper, Books and Web design. While the flute focus continues, a successful graphic design business still manifests with new opening towards photography which took its serious step when i moved to Vancouver in summer 2016.
The journey of photography was very intense as it incorporated knowing the camera, lenses and other technical skills. Having successful online classes with a focus on product photography i managed to progress with a strong portfolio of jewellery, bottle and related advanced lighting and editing curve incorporated with a strong focus on billboard advertisement and other large print formats.
Having a successful studio from 2017 with an up-to-date gear that stretches from digital medium format camera to full frame ones i continue this path with new expansion of clients and other branches of photography such as portrait and landscape.
Spring 2019 is my the first digital painting portrait gallery show in Vancouver that will be followed with a landscape gallery in summer 2019.
Joel DeSimone is a local events photographer with experience shooting weddings, concerts, raves and festivals. Joel has progressed very quickly in his craft, creating a successful media production business, and lending his talents to local event producers as well as musicians.
After pursuing a blue collar lifestyle welding in the camps of northern BC, Joel decided it wasn’t the industry that best suited him. He then took some time working security for festivals, concerts and casinos while deciding what he would like to do. Once his mind was made up, he pursued a career in audio engineering and graduated from Harbourside Institute of Technology, now called SAE Institute, as valedictorian of their 2017 audio engineering and music production course. He then went on to be an audio visual technician setting and operating events for large companies such as TedX, Scotiabank and Kelly O’ Bryan’s.
Joel is expanding his skills in the 3D virtual tour marketing and photography industry and has partnered with and brought a new dimension to the 3Dport.ca Team. Joel believes that everyone should benefit from the technology that has been recently developed and wants to 3d map the entirety of Vancouver!
